What is MRI?
Suburban Orthpaedic's MRI System
MRI is one of the best diagnostic tools, in treating a patient. Suburban Orthopaedics has a new Hitachi 1.5 Echelon MRI system, which provides the best and clearest images possible. This translates to a diagnosis, which is as close to 100% accurate as any test available.
Suburban Orthopaedic's MRI is also unique in that it allows the patient to enter the bore, feet-first, for lower extremity exams. This has proven to be very helpful for our claustrophobic patients.
How should I prepare for my MRI?
There is no preparation needed when coming in for your MRI. You may go about your day as normal-- taking your medications, eating and drinking. Please arrive a few minutes early, to complete any necessary paperwork.
Our technologist will escort you to the changing room, where you will be given a locker and asked to change into a hospital gown. You will also be asked to remove all things metallic, dentures, and glasses.
You will then be taken to the scanning room and asked to lie on the table. The exam will range from 30 - 60 minutes.
When can I expect to receive the results of my exam?
The results of your exam will be sent to your physician within 24-48 hours.
