James R. Arrington, MPAS, PA-C

Jim Arrington has been a licensed physician assistant since 2004 and joined Suburban Orthopaedics in early 2010.  He primarily supports Dr. Chhadia in all facets of his practice including clinic, surgery and local high school athletic coverage.

Jim is originally from Houston, Texas but moved to the Chicago area after finishing his commitment to the U.S. Army in 2008.  After training and service as a Medical Lab Technician, Jim attended the Interservice Physician Assistant Program at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas , where he received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.  While working as a primary care physician assistant, he also earned a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS), with a concentration in adult medicine from UNMC.

Jim has extensive training in battlefield trauma stabilization.  He served as an Infantry and Armor Battalion Physician Assistant for more than 25 months in Iraq during his two tours, and was awarded the Combat Action Badge for actions on the battlefield.  He also competed in and earned the coveted Expert Field Medical Badge while serving in the Army.  All together, he spent more than 13 years in the U.S. Army, serving as both a non-commissioned and commissioned officer. Because of his military training and experience, Jim believes that any challenge can be met with a combination of a team approach and hard work.

Jim spends his time off enjoying time with his family, home remodeling and expanding his knowledge base.  He is also currently working on his MBA at Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois .
