Dr. Freedberg Develops Innovative ACL Reconstruction Technique

Platelet-Rich Plasma Injections: Advanced Revolutionary Healing

This revolutionary treatment utilizes a sample of the patient's own blood that has been highly concentrated with platelets and growth factors.  These have been shown and used to enhance healing of musculoskeletal tissue.  The use of PRP became quite popular, after a Pittsburgh Steelers' football player was treated, prior to the 2009 Super Bowl, to expedite the healing of a MCL injury.

Total Disc Replacement: An Alternative to Fusion

According to Dr. McNally, though the recovery time for TDR is similar to that for fusion, patients are requesting TDR because of the potential for greater post-surgical freedom of movement.  Dr. McNally is the only physician in the Alexian Brothers Hospital Network and one of the few surgeons in the area qualified to perform this procedure.  Click the title above, to read more about this procedure.

Minimally Invasive Procedure Offers Relief for Symptoms of Lumbar Spinal Stenosis

The new minimally invasive procedure, X-STOP IPD (X-STOP Interspinous Process Decompression) is being used by Dr. McNally.  He says, "Unlike laminectomy, which involves removing parts of the bone and tissue that are narrowing the spinal canal and is an invasive surgical procedure requiring general anesthesia, the X-STOP is our first minimally invasive procedure to relieve the symptoms of LSS." *Lee Trevino, one of the world’s best-known professional golfers, had two X-STOP® spacers placed in his back. In his case, relief was rapid, and, he was playing golf a few weeks after the procedure.

Suburban MRI now offers on-line access to your patient’s images and reports. As a referring physician to Suburban MRI you will have a personal log-in to our GE Centricity PACS system and a personal work list to help you navigate to your patient’s MRI exam.
