Meet Our Physical Therapists

Ryan Borri, PT, DPT, Facility Manager

Ryan is the Facility Manager for both our Bartlett and Elgin offices. He completed his undergraduate degree at Carthage College prior to receiving his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Finch University of Health Sciences / The Chicago Medical School (currently Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science). Ryan brings over 17 years of outpatient orthopedic experience to Suburban Physical Therapy.

Ryan is certified in performing Job Site Analyses, Functional Capacity Evaluations, and heads the Work Conditioning program at Suburban Physical Therapy.   Ryan has also attained his certification in the McKenzie Method® of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy® (MDT) for the cervical and lumbar spine.  Ryan has completed extensive training in adolescent and adult sports medicine, ACL injury prevention, and Maitland Manual Therapy.  He remains committed to his profession, as he continues to expand his treatment techniques and expertise through continued education.

Ryan’s treatment philosophy emphasizes evidence-based manual and therapeutic exercise techniques that are tailored toward efficiently returning patients, athletes, and employees to their pre-injury status.  He is dedicated to providing personalized quality care in a positive friendly atmosphere.

Outside of patient care, Ryan enjoys spending time with his family including his wife and three children.  If he isn’t playing basketball, he is coaching basketball at the youth level.

Jason Redeker, PT, DPT

Jason graduated from the University of Illinois in 2005 with a degree in Kinesiology and then moved onto the University of Illinois Chicago where he finished in 2008 with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Jason is currently the Site Supervisor for Physical Therapy at Suburban Orthopaedics Elgin Office.  Jason is a Certified ASTYM® and Kinesio Taping 1-4 trained practitioner.  He currently lives in Algonquin with his wife Amy and children Maryn, Henry, and Alice.

Jason is a die-hard sports fan (Go Cubs!!!) and knows how important it is for his patients to get back onto the playing field, whether that field be on the basketball court, pouring concrete, or caring for your home and children. He believes by using evidence based practice he can assist his patients in a quick and safe return to action. Jason looks forward to and strives towards continuously expanding his knowledge base on the ever changing and growing field of physical therapy.

Lisa Ayotte, PT, MPT

Lisa Ayotte graduated from Northern Illinois University in 2008 with her Master of Physical Therapy. Lisa’s diverse work experience includes over four years in outpatient orthopedics, and additional background in post-operative and neuro-rehabilitative care.

Lisa believes strongly in a “patient first” philosophy, advocating for each patient’s personal goals, and providing individualized treatment plans to achieve maximal functional outcomes.  From recovery after surgery, returning to sports, getting back to work, or resuming household and childcare activities, Lisa strives to meet the individual needs of her patients.  Her treatment methodology emphasizes use of evidence based practice, including manual and therapeutic exercise techniques that are individually tailored to efficiently return patients, athletes, and employees back to their pre-injury status.  Lisa is dedicated to providing personalized quality care in a positive and friendly atmosphere, while making treatment sessions fun and enjoyable to the patient.  To Lisa, her patients are like family, and she strives to provide the best quality care and treatment possible.

Lisa assists in Suburban Physical Therapy’s Work Conditioning program, is an ASTYM® certified specialist, and has undergone training for sports injury prevention and treatment, manual treatment techniques, and therapeutic taping including Kinesio Taping.  Lisa is committed to the profession of Physical Therapy and continuously strives towards furthering her clinical expertise.  Lisa’s future interests include developing post-concussive and headache treatment services.

Michele Branka, PT, MPT

Michele graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Masters of Physical Therapy degree from Gannon University in Pennsylvania in 2001. She has a variety of experience working in outpatient centers, treating patients with orthopedic injuries to those who have suffered from a stroke.

Michele is focused on providing her patients quality care while utilizing evidence based practice. She is dedicated to improving the quality of life of her patients by continuously learning new treatment techniques through continuing education. Michele enjoys spending time with her 3 children and husband on family outings and camping trips.

Romeo Ceniza Jr., PT

Romeo O. Ceniza Jr., P.T. graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Physical Therapy. He has 17 years of clinical experience and has a wide range of patient population including musculoskeletal and orthopaedic cases, worker’s compensation injuries, and auto injuries. Romeo is also certified in instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization using Graston Technique. He has developed great hands-on skills using manual therapy techniques such as peripheral joint mobilization, soft tissue mobilization, and muscle energy technique.

Romeo also assists in progressing work conditioning programs for patients to return to work safely and efficiently.

Romeo is happily married to a physical therapist and has 3 adorable children. Romeo believes that quality of patient care is the most important key to helping patients reach their optimal levels of function.

Sonal Gandhi, PT, DPT

Sonal Gandhi graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Loyola University Chicago and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from University of Illinois at Chicago in 2005.  She has been a practicing outpatient physical therapist for 13 years, primarily with the orthopedic population.  Sonal has a certification in ASTYM, which is a type of therapy that helps regenerate the body’s own healthy soft tissues and reduces or eliminates scar tissues to decrease pain.

Sonal is committed to continuing her education to help improve functional outcomes and the quality of life for her patients.  She has recently completed further training for vestibular rehabilitation, dynamic stretching, and management of nerve and tendon pain in the upper extremity.  Sonal plans to continue her training in the vestibular rehabilitation and post-concussion syndrome field in order to assist her patients.

Aside from work, Sonal enjoys time with her husband and daughters, crafting, and any outdoor activities.

Shannon Hansen, PTA

Shannon Hansen has been with Suburban Physical Therapy since August of 2016.  Shannon graduated from Elgin Community College’s Physical Therapist Assistant program where she earned her Associates degree and became a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant.  As part of her commitment to her profession and patients, Shannon has completed multiple continuing education courses in joint replacements, Kinesio Taping, shoulder injuries, and treatments specific to athletes and runners.

In her free time Shannon loves spending time with family and friends. She has two young boys who share her love for sports. If they aren’t on at the baseball fields playing you can find them cheering on their favorite Chicago teams at home (GO WHITE SOX!).

Through manual techniques and functional based physical therapy personalized to an individual’s needs, Shannon strives to give each person the care that they deserve. She believes providing a fun, energetic environment is a vital part of her patient’s care and she looks forward to getting you back to life.

Suhail Arunkumar, PT

Suhail is a Physical Therapist and a certified strength and conditioning specialist at our Bartlett location. He earned his Bachelors of Physical Therapy degree from the SRM Medical School of Physical Therapy and is currently working on his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from EIM University with a specialty in manual therapy.

Suhail uses a patient centered approach to treatment with an emphasis on evidence based manual and therapeutic exercise techniques. He is dedicated to providing positive personalized care and improving his patient’s quality of life.

Outside of work, Suhail enjoys spending time with his family, playing basketball, working out and reading books.
